CUBE ROOT CALCULATOR

Cube Root Calculator is Fast and Easy

If you had to memorize the multiplication table as a child, you can probably do many of the smaller perfect squares and square roots in your head. Cubes and especially cube roots, on the other hand, are a bit trickier. Fortunately, you can rely on a user-friendly online cube root calculator to get the job done quickly and accurately every time.

What the Cube Root Calculator Does

A cube is defined as a number multiplied by itself 3 times (x3). A cube root is simply the reverse of this process (x1/3). In other words, a cube root calculator finds the value that, when multiplied by itself 3 times, gives the number you started with. For example, the cube root of 125 is 5, because 5 times 5 times 5 equals 125.
Most handheld calculators do not have a dedicated cube root button, so in order to find the cube root you must use the exponential function and raise the number to the 1/3 power. This requires a lot of button pushing and can get a bit complicated, so of course it is much easier to use an online calculator, where finding your cube root is a simple as clicking a button.

What about Negative Numbers?

If you’ve studied squares and square roots, you know that a positive number can actually have two square roots, one positive and one negative, while negative numbers only have imaginary square roots. With a cube root calculator, you can find the roots of both positive and negative numbers. The cube root of a positive number is always positive, and the cube root of a negative number is always negative.

Common Cubes and their Cube Roots

Here are some common cubes you might find it helpful to memorize:

Cube root of 1 = 1
Cube root of 8 = 2
Cube root of 27 = 3
Cube root of 64 = 4
Cube root of 125 = 5
